Why MyoTea?
We believe that tea is not something one should compromise on. Much like wine or gourmet cheese, tea should be chosen with care and savoured with pleasure. Even if you have just one cup of tea a day, it should be the most flavourful, aromatic tea you’ve ever tasted.
And through 170 years of experience in tea, we have realised one simple thing – that good tea requires not much else. It doesn’t need fancy flavours, extra additives or other herbs blended in to make it taste good. Pure tea, grown right and processed well, tastes absolutely delicious on its own.
Over the decades, we have formed long-standing connections with tea growing families around the world, who share our passion for that premium quality and taste. In our attempt to uplift the global tea community, we still source the leaves for some of our teas from these small growers whom we know and trust.

The 170-year Legacy
Any business requires doing extensive research, garnering knowledge and educating yourself. That’s exactly what we did, but our education began over 170 years ago.
We have been working with tea — trading, growing, manufacturing, selling and drinking it – since 1850. And in doing so, we’ve accrued the kind of knowledge that you only get through generations of working with something specific. A sort of sixth sense, if you will. The touch that lets us identify great tea; the sense that tells us exactly how to process it to ensure that you taste the difference too.
And now, 170 years later, we can say one thing with certainty – we know good tea.
Meet The Founder
Prachee Kasera Agarwal
Prachee was born in Assam where her family has their own tea gardens. Some of her fondest childhood memories are of those serene hours of dawn when she would sit with her family on their little balcony, enjoying the soothing companionship along with a cup of tea. That’s how her mornings always began, as far back as she can remember. For Prachee’s family, tea has never been just a commodity — it is their way of life.
As Prachee grew older, life took her out of Assam. Though she got used to living in different cities, she was surprised at how difficult it was to get hold of a really good cup of tea. Changing that, she quickly realised, was her calling. Inspired by her faith in the Buddhist mystic law of cause and effect, Prachee knew that this was a calling she could not ignore. That’s why she moved back home and re-focussed on her family’s tea-growing heritage. She decided to start retailing the premium tea that she grew up drinking, so that tea lovers all across India (and eventually, all around the globe) can enjoy it too.
And so MyoTea was born.
